Full Stack Development.
I’m a software engineer specializing in building full stack web applications using ReactJS/NextJS.
Hi! My name is Simon and I enjoy creating software. I'm specializing in creating full stack applications, that is, creating a product from scratch, containing front-end, back-end, database, et cetera.
I started out with Java and C# desktop applications and later on got into creating websites. I particularly enjoy using the ReactJS or NextJS framework a lot, these have made building websites a lot more structured.
As for the backend I like to use NextJS's API routes, with Prisma to connect to a MySQL or PostgreSQL database. I'm also familiar with ExpressJS, and Django REST Framework.
Below are the technologies I'm familiar with:
Lightweight Parts is an active webshop built from scratch using NextJS as front-end framework. For the backend, Django REST Framework was used as a standalone API.
The NextJS front-end is being hosted on Vercel and is fully functional. It also comes with an administrator panel.
Videoinwerken is an educational web app focused towards business owners / managers, managers can create quizzes for employees to teach them how certain tasks must be done. In a quiz, employees must watch some videos or look at a picture before attempting a quiz. The manager can monitor which employees have finished which courses.
Videoinwerken is made from scratch and uses ReactJS as frontend, and Django REST Framework as its backend API. This was one of my first projects for a customer.
SmartServe is a web app suited for phones or tablets in restaurants. Customers can use the app to order food at their table, this way they can order right away and do not have to wait for a waiter. The kitchen will receive the order instantly, which speeds up the ordering process.
This project was built in approximately two months with a small group I was part of and it was made using ReactJS. We did not have to make the backend.
Last but not least, I also built this portfolio website from scratch, using NextJS. And for the backend I used API routes and Prisma.
